The J. A. Dieudonné research unit and the NeuroMod Institute at Université Côte d'Azur are proud to announce the opening of a Junior Professor Chair on Modeling in Neuroscience and Cognition.

KEY INFORMATION

Junior professor chairs are a new recruitment path granting access to a permanent position in the French public university system. After a 3-to-6-year tenure track period and following evaluation, the successful candidate may be granted tenure as a full professor at Université Côte d’Azur, subject to the approval of a tenure commission.

A professorship chair has following advantages:
  • reduced teaching load;
  • a specific welcome package (in order to support research activities);
  • access to a full professor position after a track of 5 years.
We wish to  recruit a talented researcher who will contribute to the leadership of the University in mathematical neuroscience. The recruited expert is expected to strengthen the participation of the mathematical community in the NeuroMod Institute.

We are particularly interested in expertises complementary to the existing activities (in stochastic modeling and PDE) and our project would benefit greatly from the contribution in emerging fields — in their application to neuroscience —such as topology and geometry, or from an expertise in dynamical systems for neurosciences.

Applications oriented to  stochastic modeling, probability and statistics will be positively considered as well.

Conditions to apply

  • There are no age or nationality requirements to apply.
  • As part of its diversity policy, all positions at Université Côte d’Azur are open to persons with disabilities, with appropriate accommodations provided based on the nature of the disability.
  • Eligible applicants include holders of a PhD or an equivalent degree, or individuals who can demonstrate scientific qualifications and research work considered equivalent.
  • Junior researchers who show potential for leading and contributing to research activities, or who have at least six years of research experience, are encouraged to apply.
